I decided to start this as a possible Friday theme that I'll do every week. I'm thinking seven. Sounds like a good enough number when picking one arbitrarily. So that will be our things. Friday's seven "Fess Ups". Sometimes they'll be fun, sometimes they'll be serious. Depends on the week and how I feel when I get there.
Number One: I suck at blogging. I'm sorry guys. It's just something I haven't added to my regular routine quite yet. I'll get there. I promise. I'm thinking I'm just going to set little reminders up in my phone.
I've changed my mind about scheduling because between my internship and my real job my Mondays and Wednesdays are BOOKED up. I get about a 3 hour break between for changing and commuting but I'll be working from 8:00AM to 11:00PM every Monday and Wednesday for the foreseeable future.
Regardless, I will absolutely be making time to blog because I actually do want to get involved in it and have it be something I look forward to.
Number Two: I'm probably way too excited for Fall to get here. I will totally confess to having already made myself a mug of hot chocolate in my Willams-Sonoma hot chocolate maker and it was freakin' delicious if I do say so myself.
I also went a little fall smell crazy at bath and body works and bought myself a brand new Wallflower with 2 autumnal scents: Cider Lane and Pumpkin Caramel Latte. OH! and their Harvest Coffee scent in a mini candle...which is almost dead at this point because I've burned it all last night and today with the exception of the times that I'm sleeping.
I just love Fall. It's not too hot. It's not too cold. The clothes are infinitely cuter and more expressive than they are in Summer when you're just trying to cover yourself enough to be able to go outside without frying in the heat.
Number Three: I have a major watch issue. I own one for every day of the week but I always have my eye out for another one. Currently, it is this one: The Florence from Fossil.
I just love the square face and the slightly over-sized quality that it has. For being a big fan of small jewelry, I have a tendency to gravitate toward large faced watches. The bigger, the better for me.
Number Four: I'm going through a severe mother-like phase. Now that Fall is rapidly approaching, to say that I am more than ready to also bust out my crockpot and cook HUGE meals for people is somewhat of an understatement. Anyone who follows me on Pinterest can attest to the fact that I pin food a lot. Constantly, in fact. Heck, between recipes and pictures of outfits that I should know how to style but am far too lazy to, food makes up most of what I pin.
Number Five: Patience is rapidly becoming a virtue that I'm adopting. After what was one hell of a weekend last week, I managed to get myself released from the relationship that I had been very much enjoying for the better part of this month. My sincerest hope is that between whatever was going on personally and my father going into the hospital that it was just a hair overwhelming and instead of wanting to end it for good, space and time will be enough to get us back on track again. This is probably not the best idea to share it in a blog but I'm putting it out into the universe and hoping against hope that its correct.
Number Six: I am now addicted to Duck Dynasty. I don't know what it is about that show but I am hooked. My little sister has been watching it obsessively for the last few months and even themed her graduation party around it but I held out for as long as possible before getting into it. In the vain hope that she was wrong and it wasn't television gold, I watched an episode about two weeks ago and that was it. I now have the A&E app on my Kindle Fire, specifically to watch Duck Dynasty episodes when they're available and I have them DVRed at the apartment so that I get not only the brand new episodes but the ones that are seasons old as well. It's just too damn funny to resist. Call me a redneck if you want but I'm keeping the bearded Robertson boys around for as long as A&E keeps them on TV.
This one is a little silly BUT I'm excited.
Number Seven: After almost 2 years, I have reached over 500 followers on Tumblr. I am happy to admit that I now spend less time than I did even a year ago on the blogging site but I have nonetheless reached over 500 followers this week. I have to admit, I LOVE my Tumblr and I have spent some time trying to make it into a page that is representative of what I'm thinking and feeling. I don't write anything but I do post pictures that change seasonally and depend upon my mood. I have a tendency not to go on for a few days at a time but when I do, I always make sure to post things and I constantly have my eye on the format and the music that I use so nothing gets stale. I hope that this blog will turn into something similar. I can't promise that my blog will, in fact be as carefully constructed as my Tumblr because frankly in a real blog I don't have the luxury of compiling other people's work and making it my own.
